RULES FOR KONARAK REDDY’S GLOBAL GUITAR GITA Competition 2026
Effective August 15th, 2026
ELIGIBILITY
An Entrant (Individual) can be of any nationality. An Entrant may be either a professional or amateur guitarist as the aim is to encourage and affirm quality guitar playing. By their submission of entry, Entrants warrant they are legally entitled and authorized to make such submission on their own behalf. In the event of a dispute as to the winner’s identity, entries will be deemed made by the holder of the email account associated with the entry. Invalid or ineligible entries shall be excluded from consideration.
TIMING: Contest begins at 6 am onAugust 15th 2026 and continues until 11pm on November 25th 2026. Entries MUST be received by 11 pm on November 25, 2026 to be eligible. Finalists will be announced by November 30th 2026.
HOW TO ENTER
One Entrant (Individual) must submit two (2) unedited YouTube Videos, no longer than 5 minutes each and with no camera stops or edits, of themselves playing the guitar. You can send these to globalguitargita@gmail.com with the subject: Global Guitar Gita Entrant. The video should be recognisable as the person in the passport photo also to be submitted.
Entries may comprise of original songs or covers, and must be solo performances. It is acceptable to submit a non-original composition; provided the entrant is not “copying” the performance of the original guitarist or artist.
In all entries, the interpretation of the melody and solo of that song must be original in flavour and content.
Only one submission allowed per applicant. If multiple entries are submitted, only the first submission will be considered.
The following must accompany each video submission in order for your entry to be complete: 1) Applicant’s address, email, telephone number and age 2) a passport photo that looks exactly as in the video submission 3) 2 video recordings. Incomplete entries will not be considered. Applicants should retain copies of all materials sent with their entries. Organisers will accept no responsibility for entries lost in cyber space. JUDGING
A panel of professional guitarists will evaluate the videos on the basis of voice, technique, interpretation, and artistry.
The 10 shortlisted finalists will be judged, live, by a panel of professional guitarists including Dylan Fowler (Wales), Julie Malia (Germany) and Konarak Reddy (India)
Prizes will be announced by the judges.
Former grand prize winners may not apply.
All decisions of the judges are final.

The 10 finalists will receive free passes to attend the Global Guitar Intimate Concerts at Windmills Craftworks Bangalore.

All 10 finalists will perform LIVE on Sunday, December 13th, 2026 at the Goethe-Institute, Bangalore where the judges will award the prizes.

CONDITIONS
The Organizers are not responsible for lost, late, damaged, misdirected, incomplete entries, or for lost, interrupted or unavailable network, server or other connections, miscommunications, failed telephone or computer hardware or software or other technical failures.Organizers reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to cancel, suspend, or modify the Contest if it becomes corrupted in any manner such that it cannot be conducted as originally planned and, in such event, to select winners from all eligible entries received prior to and/or after (if appropriate) the action taken by the Organizers. In such event, Organizers shall have no liability to any Entrant who is disqualified due to such an action.
